The Waterford Way is to be prosperous. To flow with nature’s cycles, seasons and chapters, and to achieve longevity by perpetuating what has worked before. You’ll find the Waterford Way in the citrus, lavender and rosemary aromas that welcome you as you drive up to the entrance. You’ll find it in the gravel that connects you to the earth, the sky above the Mediterranean courtyard where you sip our wine.

When Waterford runs in your blood

September 26, 2018

Waterford Estate may have a shorter ancestry than other farms but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fuelled by family ties. As is the case in many other wine-producing countries of the world, South African wine farms are often passed down from generation to generation. In the process, parents pass on a legacy of their love […]

Market Day in Greyton is a bustling flurry of sounds […]

Mentoring for success

Colleagues are wonderful, but mentors are even more important. And at Waterford Estate, mentorship is starting to play a key role in ensuring the long-term prosperity of our team. Diverse soils and the unique factors on Waterford Estate’s farm make for the production of some seriously interesting Mediterranean wines and blends – an opportunity Kevin Arnold identified and started to explore 22 years ago. Words from Mark

April 18, 2017

I’m Mark Le Roux, the winemaker at Waterford Estate. In 2004, while I was still studying, I spent my summer holiday working in the vineyards at Waterford Estate. This was my first encounter with Waterford Estate, and I have since come to truly believe in the land and the wines we produce. In 2009, after spending some time overseas and at other well-known South African wineries, I joined the cellar team at Waterford Estate.
